My final outcome

I decided to design a new menu for noodle court which shall promote the various unaware dishes available at their place.
I had various ideas in my mind regarding the layout, the design, its content, the look and appearance, etc.
Starting with the background I wanted a background which is not really loud as that was not my center of attraction, as i wanted the text to be highlighted. So i chose this art work (dry pastels on cartridge paper)done by my group member Sachika. Using digital skills the opacity was reduced in order to bring out the text.

Explorations
After going through various formats and trying them out on illustrator I finally decided to make a folding menu. I made a sample folding menu also for it.
Then i started working on its various details like which text to choose which font color to select and further on. For the first page I selected a monochrome image which I myself clicked for the cover page of the menu. The front page is such that the viewers attention directly goes onto the bright logo.
The main concept of my menu was to highlight the unaware dishes and to do that I selected the unaware dishes from their menu and looked for their images online. Also I thought of giving a small description of those dishes. Sachika helped in simplification of the menu, like various dishes were placed under wrong heads, we rearranged them accordingly, and also thought of adding a few heads such as 'Direct from the sea' for the sea food and 'Authentic Thai' for Thai cuisine .

We also thought of making icons to gave indications in a better manner which would further simplify the menu. Shivranjani designed the icons present below for our final menu on illustrator.

Icon for very spicy food

Icon for veg items
Icon for Chef's special
Icon for non-veg items
